Privacy notice
Last updated October 23, 2026
This notice covers the FlyingStrip website before launch: the waitlist, the short survey after it, and the bottleneck board. We'll publish a full privacy policy for the product before it launches.
Who we are
FlyingStrip is a business of Abdul Yaziz bin Kassim, registered in Malaysia as a sole proprietorship (202503330438 (003801062-K)). We are the controller of your data. For anything about your data, email privacy@flyingstrip.com.
What we collect
- When you join the waitlist: your email address, the time you agreed, and which version of the consent wording you saw.
- If you answer the survey: your team size, your four price answers, and the currency we asked them in. We pick USD, or GBP for the UK, from the country our host reports for your connection. We don't store your country or your IP address.
- If you answer the bottleneck question: the text you write. We may add that bottleneck to the board on our home page, without your name or email.
- If you vote on the board: your votes, linked to a random visitor ID, not to your email.
Everything here is optional. If you don't give your email, you can't join the waitlist; everything else on the site still works. Please don't include anyone's name or other personal details in your bottleneck text. We edit any text before showing it on the board.
Why we use it
- To email you about early access and the early subscriber offer.
- To understand what teams would pay, and which bottlenecks to fix first.
- To keep the forms safe from bots and abuse.
We rely on your consent for the waitlist and the survey, and you can withdraw it at any time. For the board and the security checks, we rely on our legitimate interest in counting votes fairly and keeping the site safe.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data and we don't use advertising trackers. We share it only with the providers listed below, or when the law requires it. If FlyingStrip is ever sold, the buyer would be bound by this notice.
Cookies and browser storage
- fs_visitor cookie: set only when you vote. It holds a signed random ID, so each vote counts once and you can change it later. It lasts 12 months.
- Theme: if you switch between light and dark, your choice is saved in your browser. It's never sent to us.
Bot checks and rate limits
Before we save a signup or a first vote, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that you're not a bot. To limit repeated tries, we count requests per network using a keyed hash of your IP address, never the address itself, and delete those counts after about a day.
Who processes it for us
- Supabase: our database, hosted in London, UK.
- Vercel: hosts the website and handles each request.
- Cloudflare: the Turnstile bot check, our domain's DNS, and forwarding of email sent to privacy@.
We run FlyingStrip from Malaysia, so we access your data from there. Vercel and Cloudflare are US companies and may process request data in the United States. Where data leaves the UK, we rely on safeguards such as standard data protection clauses or the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
We keep your email, survey answers, bottleneck text and votes until 12 months after FlyingStrip's public launch, then delete them. If you ask, we delete them sooner.
Security
Your data is stored encrypted in a database that is closed to public access. If a breach affects you, we'll tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or receive a copy of your data, to limit how we use it, or to withdraw your consent, at any time. You can also object to any use based on our legitimate interests. Email privacy@flyingstrip.com and we'll reply within one month. We make no automated decisions about you.
If you're in the UK, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). In Malaysia, you can contact the Personal Data Protection Commissioner. Elsewhere, you can contact your local data protection authority.
Children
This site isn't meant for anyone under 16.
Changes
If this notice changes, we'll update the date at the top. If we want to use your email for something new, we'll ask you first.
